A common response I receive when I talk with people about actively pursuing their goals is, “I just don’t have the time right now. I’m too busy.”
So how do those who do live their dreams find the time?
Would 182 extra hours help? Would those extra hours of pursuing your goals help you reach them?
If you add one half hour of goal pursuit to your day, you will gain 182 hours to your year. Obviously, you can’t switch to a 24 ½ hour day. But you can squeeze in an extra half hour.
Here are some suggestions:
* Leave your bed earlier
* Stay up later
* Reduce your television time
* Sacrifice one activity of lesser importance
* Work on your goals at lunchtime
Some dead time that you could fill with planning or activities are:
* Your commute
* Waiting for appointments
* Meetings where your involvement is limited
No one can follow all of these suggestions; but by selecting one or two, you can easily add a half hour of goal pursuit to your day.
Think of the impact on your life if you add 182 hours to each year over the course of ten years. Would 1820 extra hours make a difference?
Wishing alone will never get you to your desired destination.
Only purposeful action will get you there.
Minor adjustments yield major results.
